33% Seats for Women in Upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections: Deepak Prakash
Khunti (Jharkhand): As part of the BJP Foundation Day week campaign, an Assembly-level active membership conference was organized on Sunday in Kunjla village.
The chief guest, Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash, thanked the BJP workers of Khunti district for actively participating in all programs assigned by the organization. He acknowledged the recent losses in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections from Khunti but praised the commitment of party workers who continued to work even in adverse situations. He expressed confidence that the BJP would win the upcoming elections and resume the stream of development in the region.
Highlighting the significance of the Foundation Day week, he reminded the gathering that the BJP was founded on April 6, 1980. “In 1984, when only two BJP MPs were elected, Congress mocked us,” he said. “At that time, Atal Bihari Vajpayee responded in Parliament, saying people are mocking us today, but a time will come when we will form the government across the nation, and it will be Congress facing ridicule.”
He emphasized that it was under the BJP government that India became a nuclear-capable nation and that the morale of the armed forces has soared under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also announced that in the 2029 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, 33% of the seats would be reserved for women.
Under Modi’s Leadership, India Is Moving Towards Becoming a Global Leader: Neelkanth
Special guest, State Vice President and former minister Neelkanth Singh Munda, mentioned that Khunti Assembly has 140 active members. He emphasized that responsibilities in the organization are assigned only after a member becomes active.
“When the BJP was founded, we started from zero. Today, with 180 million members, we are the world’s largest political party,” he said. He also pointed out that after the Railways, the Waqf Board holds the most land in the country. “Prime Minister Modi brought the Waqf Board Amendment Bill to place checks on the board’s powers,” he added.
He concluded by stating that under Modi’s leadership, India is steadily moving towards becoming a Vishwaguru (world leader).
After the membership conference, a temple cleaning drive was held in Kunjla village, followed by a Chaupal (community meeting) where various welfare schemes were discussed with the locals.
The welcome speech was delivered by the event convener, Kashi Nath Mahto. The program was hosted by district general secretary and event convener Sanjay Sahu.
Prominent attendees included District Vice President Binod Nag, Manju Devi, Anoop Sahu, Mahavir Ram, Madan Mohan Gop, Arjun Pahan, Parmeshwar Prasad, Kanchan Singh, and Harinath Munda.
