Recruitment of 488 Home Guard Volunteer Soldiers at Mahakal Temple, Approval for Second Supplementary Budget
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) : A meeting of the Council of Ministers was held on Tuesday at the Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, where several key decisions were taken in the interest of the state. The Cabinet approved the recruitment of 488 Home Guard volunteer soldiers for the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, with an annual expenditure of ₹17 crore. This recruitment process is expected to be completed within a year. Additionally, the second supplementary budget was also approved and will be presented in the state assembly.
Implementation of Global Investors Summit Proposals
Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, while briefing on the meeting’s decisions, stated that after the Global Investors Summit, the Chief Minister directed ministers to continuously follow up on the summit’s proposals and review them with department heads. The Principal Secretary will conduct weekly reviews and report to the Chief Secretary, while ministers will work towards implementing these proposals. Investment proposals received across various sectors were also shared during the meeting.
Approval for Amendment in Urban and Rural Investment Act
The Cabinet approved the 2025 amendment bill to Section 66 of the Urban and Rural Investment Act for development projects. Under this amendment, any government department will be allowed to invest outside the planning area and submit proposals to the state government for approval. Agencies such as MPIDC, MPRDC, SADA, and Development Authorities will be granted this exemption for projects exceeding ₹500 crore.
Farmers’ Support Initiatives
The Cabinet ratified the decision to provide ₹175 per quintal over the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat and an incentive of ₹4,000 per hectare for paddy procured in 2024. Additionally, a Water Conservation Campaign will run from March 30 to June 30, focusing on the preservation and enhancement of all water structures in the state.
Anganwadi Training Program and Budget Approval
Anganwadi workers will be trained to provide general knowledge education to children. The second supplementary budget, exceeding ₹15,000 crore, was also approved. On March 6, a presentation will be made before the 16th Finance Commission regarding the state’s financial position and the funds to be received from the central government for 2026-2031, with all ministers in attendance.
Other Key Decisions:
₹138.41 crore project approved for digitizing farmers’ land records.
Approval for a new district office in Pandhurna and restructuring of forest divisions in Chhindwara, leading to the dissolution of the South Chhindwara Forest Division and reorganization of East and West Chhindwara Forest Divisions.
Changes in the organizational structure of MP Power Transmission Company Limited were discussed.
Approval for “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” program under Mission Poshan 2.0, ensuring Anganwadi workers receive special training to provide both education and values to children.
Post-facto approval granted for medical expenses incurred for some government employees and their family members who received treatment outside the state.
