A Celebration Beyond Taste : Grand Celebration of the 4th Mithila Mango Festival at Sir Ganganath Jha Library, Saribpahi
Madhubani (Bihar) : The aroma of Mithila’s culture and taste filled the air as the 4th Mithila Mango Festival (Maangon Festival) was grandly organized on Sunday at the premises of Sir Ganganath Jha Library, Saribpahi. The event was held under the banner of Ayachi Nagar Yuva Foundation and was led by Mr. Madan Jha. The festival attracted a massive crowd of mango lovers and local residents.
Exhibition of Over 150 Varieties of Mangoes
More than 150 varieties of mangoes were displayed at the festival, including many rare and traditional varieties from the Mithila region. The rich diversity of mangoes offered visitors a glimpse into the agricultural heritage and cultural essence of Mithila.
Mango-Eating Contest Steals the Show
The biggest highlight of the festival was the “Mango-Eating Competition,” where participants took on the exciting challenge of eating the maximum number of mangoes within five minutes.
Ishan Kumar emerged as the winner by devouring 32 mangoes in just 5 minutes.
Rajesh Mandal secured second place with 25 mangoes,
while Harsh Nath Jha came in third with 22 mangoes.
Art Competition Brings Out Youth Creativity
A Mango-themed Drawing Competition for children and youth also saw enthusiastic participation.

- and Tannu Priya in third.

Honorable Guests Grace the Event
The event was graced by Vikash Jha as the chief guest, Madhubani MLA Samir Mahaseth as the special guest, and Dr. Savita Jha, Founder Director of the Madhubani Literature Festival. All praised the mango festival as a commendable initiative to preserve agricultural and cultural heritage.
