A Major Step Towards Self-Reliance in Military Preparedness: India Unveils Indigenous 5th Generation Fighter Jet, the ‘Father of J-35’

New Delhi: India’s indigenous weapons showcased devastating power against enemy drones and missiles during Operation Sindoor, boosting the confidence of Indian defense scientists to unprecedented heights. Today, the world not only acknowledges India’s military strength but is also astonished by the lethal capabilities of its weaponry. This has accelerated India’s push to develop more indigenous defense technologies at a faster pace.

In a significant move in this direction, the Indian government on Tuesday approved a major indigenous project for developing a 5th generation advanced medium-weight deep-penetration fighter jet (AMCA) for the Indian Air Force. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh gave the green light to the “execution model” of this ambitious AMCA program. The project aims to build a stealth-equipped, medium-weight fighter jet designed to significantly enhance the country’s aerial combat capabilities.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Defence on May 27 said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the implementation model of the AMCA program. This step marks a crucial milestone in boosting India’s indigenous defense capabilities and strengthening the domestic aerospace industry ecosystem. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is prepared to implement the program through industry partnerships.

The ministry further stated that the model offers equal opportunities on a competitive basis to both private and public sector entities. Bidders can participate independently, as joint ventures, or consortiums, provided they comply with Indian laws and regulations.

This project will leverage India’s indigenous expertise, capabilities, and resources to develop the AMCA prototype and is expected to be a major success in advancing self-reliance in the aerospace sector.

India’s initiative will not only be capable of competing with globally advanced fighter jets like the J-20 and J-35 but is being hailed as the ‘father of J-35’, signaling the dawn of a new era in India’s military strength.
