AAP Accuses BJP of Involvement in Attack on Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday leveled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the alleged attack on its National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal. Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP of orchestrating the attack, claiming that the attackers have close ties with BJP leader Parvesh Verma.
Addressing a press conference, Atishi said, “When fake votes and money distribution failed to work, the BJP resorted to attacking Kejriwal. The names of the attackers — Rahul alias Shanky, Rohit Tyagi, and Sumit — have come to light. These individuals are reportedly close to former MP Parvesh Verma and have criminal records involving the Arms Act, robbery, assault, and attempted murder.”
Sanjay Singh’s Allegations
AAP MP Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of attempting to assassinate Kejriwal. He said, “The BJP is using criminals to attack Kejriwal. They are trying to win elections with the help of dacoits and murderers. These criminals have been seen campaigning with Parvesh Verma in Delhi Assembly elections. Even the Delhi Police is complicit in this conspiracy, as the attackers haven’t been arrested yet.”
Manish Sisodia’s Statement
Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia took to social media platform X, alleging, “The attackers targeting Arvind Kejriwal turned out to be BJP associates! Fearful of Kejriwal’s popularity, the BJP is now conspiring to assassinate him. Amit Shah, the Delhi Police operates under your ministry. Why haven’t the attackers been arrested yet? Is shielding these attackers part of the BJP’s political strategy?”
The incident has sparked a political uproar, with AAP leaders demanding swift action and accusing the BJP of targeting Kejriwal out of desperation over his growing influence. Meanwhile, the BJP has not yet responded to these allegations.
