Actress Janki Bodiwala Joins ‘Mardaani 3’ as the New Sherni; Fans Eagerly Await the Release
Mumbai : Actress Rani Mukerji is all set to return to the big screen in the third installment of her powerful franchise, Mardaani 3, ready to win hearts once again with her fierce portrayal. The much-awaited film has been creating a buzz among fans who are excited to see Rani back in the uniform as a fearless and strong police officer. This time, the film is being directed by Abhiraj Minawala.
Adding to the excitement, actress Janki Bodiwala has joined the cast, and her character is expected to bring a major twist in the storyline. According to reports, Janki will be playing the role of a police officer alongside Rani Mukerji. She has already begun shooting for the film in Mumbai.
Janki made her Bollywood debut in 2024 with the film Shaitaan, where she portrayed Ajay Devgn’s daughter. However, she originally started her acting career in the Gujarati film industry with Chhello Divas in 2015.
The release date for Mardaani 3 has been officially announced — the film is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026. This time, direction has been taken over by Abhiraj Minawala, while Aditya Chopra is producing the film under the YRF banner.
The Mardaani franchise began on August 22, 2014, followed by a successful sequel in 2019. Rani Mukerji played the iconic role of Shivani Shivaji Roy, a bold and relentless police officer. The first film was directed by the late Pradeep Sarkar and was lauded for its gripping narrative and powerful performances.
