Aditi Rao Hydari Struggles to Find Work After ‘Heeramandi’

New Delhi: Aditi Rao Hydari has showcased her exceptional acting skills in numerous films and web series. Most recently, she appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi. Her performance in the show was widely praised, and her graceful ‘Gajagamini walk’ even went viral on social media. Her beauty and charm were compared to the legendary Meena Kumari. However, despite the widespread appreciation, Aditi herself has revealed that this much-talked-about performance hasn’t significantly benefited her career.

In a conversation on Farah Khan’s blog, Aditi made a surprising revelation about her career post-Heeramandi. Farah mentioned that Aditi had felt she had reached a significant milestone in her career after working with Bhansali. Responding in a humorous tone, Aditi said, “Nothing at all! Forget Heeramandi, I am not even getting work in a vegetable market! After receiving so much love and appreciation for my role, I expected to get many exciting projects. But the exact opposite happened. I was shocked—why am I not getting any offers? It feels like a complete drought!”

Farah, amused by her response, jokingly added, “And then you got married.” Aditi laughed and admitted that in this unexpected free time, she decided to marry actor Siddharth.

Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth tied the knot in September last year in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family. In Heeramandi, Aditi portrayed the character of Bibbojaan, mesmerizing audiences with her stunning screen presence and exceptional performance. Her dance number “Saiyaan Hatt Jaao” also went viral, earning widespread acclaim. The series featured an ensemble cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Fardeen Khan, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, who contributed to making the show a grand success.
