Amit Shah Visits Baisaran, Site of Pahalgam Terror Attack

Pahalgam (Jammu & Kashmir): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday visited the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, where terrorists brutally killed 27 innocent tourists on Tuesday. The horrific attack has shaken the entire nation.

Arriving at the attack site by helicopter, the Home Minister landed directly on the blood-stained grass of the scenic meadow. Security was significantly heightened in the area following the arrival of army personnel.

Earlier in the day, Amit Shah paid floral tributes to the victims during a solemn ceremony held outside the Police Control Room in Srinagar. He also met with the families of the victims. Visibly moved, Shah listened as the grieving relatives, devastated by the loss of their loved ones, shared their pain and anguish.

Following the visit, the Union Home Minister took to X (formerly Twitter), stating that the nation will never bow down to terrorism and that those responsible for the killing of tourists in Pahalgam will not be spared.

Meanwhile, Congress MP K.C. Venugopal and Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra also paid their respects to the victims during the ceremony. The attack, which took place in the picturesque region of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, has turned a once peaceful haven into a place of mourning.

This assault is considered one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the region since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. In a united response, political parties and local trade associations across the Kashmir Valley have called for a complete shutdown to express solidarity with the victims’ families and to condemn the barbaric act.
