Archery has always been an integral part of the Tribal way of life
Tawang: The 4th State Level Archery Championship 2025 was officially inaugurated this morning by Gabriel D. Wangsu, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development, at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Sports Stadium, Tawang.
The Championship, organized by the Tawang District Archery Association (TDAA), will be held over three days from 28th to 30th October 2025, under the guidance of the Sports Authority of Arunachal and the Arunachal Pradesh Archery Association. The event is being supported by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, MLA Lungla Tsering Lhamu, MLA Tawang Namgey Tsering, and Chief Advisor of TDAA Er. Phurpa Wangyal.
In his inaugural address, Chief Guest Gabriel D. Wangsu highlighted that archery has always been an integral part of the tribal way of life, symbolizing strength, precision, and tradition. He commended the organizers for preserving and promoting this ancient sport among the youth and encouraged young archers to pursue excellence while keeping their cultural heritage alive.
The opening ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing various districts across the state, with traditional performances adding a cultural touch to the event. The championship aims to identify and nurture budding talents who can represent Arunachal Pradesh at the national and international levels.
