BJP Likely to Get a New General Secretary Soon, Discussions on Replacing Hitanand Sharma Intensify
Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is currently undergoing organizational elections, and it is anticipated that the party will appoint a new national president and state presidents in the new year. In Madhya Pradesh, discussions have intensified regarding the appointment of a new General Secretary (Organization) for the state.
Discontent with Hitanand Sharma
Since the 2023 Assembly elections, there has been speculation about replacing the incumbent General Secretary (Organization), Hitanand Sharma. These speculations gained momentum when Rajasthan’s General Secretary, Chandrashekhar, was appointed as the General Secretary for Telangana. According to sources, both the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP leadership are reportedly dissatisfied with Sharma’s performance.
Political analysts and party workers believe that Sharma has failed to meet the standards set by his predecessors, Captain Singh Solanki and Arvind Menon. His tenure has been marked by a lack of coordination between BJP workers and the RSS.
Frequent Complaints
Sources reveal that a former minister recently lodged a complaint with the central leadership, accusing Sharma of inappropriate behavior. The matter reportedly reached the national level within the RSS. Senior RSS leaders, who had initially backed Sharma’s appointment, are now said to be unhappy with his performance.
Potential Candidates for the Role
Several names have emerged as potential replacements for Sharma:
Mukesh Dixit: Former office manager at Samidha, known for his strong connections with both the RSS and BJP. His simplicity, approachability, and organizational skills make him a strong contender.
Keshav Budlia: Regional Organizing Secretary of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
Brajkant Chaturvedi: Prant Pracharak of Mahakaushal region.
Appointment Expected in December
Sources suggest that the new General Secretary (Organization) could be appointed in the first week of December. The BJP is reportedly keen to select a candidate who is approachable, pragmatic, and capable of strengthening the organization.
This change is expected to inject new energy into the Madhya Pradesh BJP and play a crucial role in bolstering the party’s organizational framework ahead of upcoming challenges.
