Brutal Killing of Hindu Youth and Targeted Violence Against Hindu Society in Bangladesh Is Unacceptable: Alok Kumar

Mumbai: Addressing a press conference today, International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Senior Advocate Shri Alok Kumar expressed deep anguish and strong condemnation over the brutal killing of a Hindu youth, Dipu Chandra Das, who was lynched by a mob in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, on Thursday night following allegations of blasphemy.
Shri Alok Kumar said that as per reports, Dipu Chandra Das had posted that ‘all Gods are the same with different names’. This is interpreted as blasphemy and for this he was burnt alive. Such stand is dangerous as it challanges the very foundations of secularism in India He questioned why self-proclaimed secular forces, sections of the international media, and human rights platforms across the world are maintaining a stoic silence on this issue He further stated that exiled Bangladeshi author and human rights activist Taslima Nasreen has publicly stated that Dipu Chandra Das was falsely accused of blasphemy and was abandoned by the police despite being under their protection. This, Shri Alok Kumar said, reflects a complete and deliberate collapse of the rule of law and a grave abdication of state responsibility in Bangladesh.
Shri Alok Kumar said that Bangladesh is currently passing through a grave phase of uncertainty, lawlessness and anarchy. In this disturbing atmosphere, radical and fundamentalist elements have unleashed unchecked violence against Hindus, Sikhs and other minority communities. The inhuman killing of a young Hindu boy is not an isolated incident, but a grim reflection of the growing insecurity, fear and systematic persecution faced by minorities across Bangladesh. He emphasised that this alarming situation is a matter of serious concern for the entire world. It is the moral and humanitarian responsibility of the international community to take immediate and effective steps to ensure the safety of minorities and the protection of human rights in Bangladesh.
Shri Alok Kumar further stated that Bharat cannot and should not remain a silent spectator in such circumstances. Bharat has a long and proud tradition of standing with oppressed and persecuted communities across the world. Vishva Hindu Parishad strongly urges the Government of Bharat to take all possible diplomatic, political and humanitarian measures to ensure the safety, security and dignity of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
He categorically demanded the immediate withdrawal of the Nobel Peace Prize conferred upon Muhammad Yunus, stating that any leadership which fails to protect minorities and maintain law and order has no moral right to enjoy international recognition or legitimacy. He also strongly condemned the fact that Muhammad Yunus accorded a state funeral to Sharif Osman Hadi, who had earlier openly challenged India by sharing a map on Facebook depicting a so-called “Greater Bangladesh,” a provocative vision encompassing India’s seven northeastern states, West Bengal and parts of eastern India. Vishva Hindu Parishad has no sympathy for such elements.
Shri Alok Kumar announced that Vishwa Hindu Parishad will organise nationwide agitations across every prant and district in Bharat to protest the continued violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and to demand justice, accountability and international intervention.
Concluding his statement, Shri Alok Kumar said that Vishwa Hindu Parishad hopes democracy, secular values and the rule of law are restored in Bangladesh at the earliest. The people of Bangladesh deserve peace, human rights and uninterrupted economic progress. The society and government of Bharat will continue to support all just, lawful and humanitarian efforts aimed at restoring harmony, security and justice in Bangladesh.
