Building Collapse in Tokri Walan Claims One Life, FIR Registered

New Delhi: A tragic incident occurred early this morning in Delhi’s Tokri Walan, Pul Mithai, and Bara Hindu Rao area, where an old building collapsed, resulting in the death of a man named Manoj Sharma on the spot.

According to sources, the collapsed structure housed three shops on the ground floor and warehouses on the first floor. These establishments were linked to the Azad Market area, where bags and canvas fabric are commonly traded.

Upon receiving the information, police and rescue teams rushed to the scene. Officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and an investigation is underway.

Local residents claimed that the building was in a dilapidated condition, and multiple complaints had been lodged earlier, but no action was taken. Authorities are now probing whether the building was ever declared unsafe.

The incident has caused panic in the area. As a precautionary measure, safety inspections of surrounding buildings have been initiated to prevent any further mishaps.
