“Char Bangla Gurudwara Brings Hope Amid Punjab Floods”

Mumbai: The Char Bangla Gurudwara Sahib in Mumbai, under the leadership of Sardar Jaspal Singh Suri and Maninder Singh Suri, set a remarkable example of humanity by extending help to flood-affected districts of Punjab — Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, and Ajnala. With relief material worth around ₹50 lakh, the Gurudwara committee provided essential kits, food, medicines, boats, and fodder for livestock.

In Ajnala’s Dubbarr village, the committee sponsored wheat cultivation on 75 acres, while adopting Harar Kalan village and supporting 125 acres of farming with seeds, fertilizers, and diesel. They also took responsibility for the weddings of daughters of affected farmers and the reconstruction of damaged homes.

Sardar Suri said, “This was not just relief work, but an effort to restore dignity and hope.” The unity of the sangat and volunteers proved that when service becomes devotion, even the greatest calamities seem small.
