CM Nitish Kumar Announces 10 Million Jobs and 7 New Medical Colleges

Patna (Bihar) : On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unfurled the tricolor at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, inspected the parade, and made significant announcements for the state’s development. He stated that the government will create 10 million jobs and employment opportunities over the next five years. The fee for preliminary job examinations has been reduced to ₹100, while no fee will be charged for the main examination. Previously, candidates had to pay between ₹700 and ₹800 for these exams.

The Chief Minister also announced the opening of new medical colleges in seven districts of Bihar and the launch of a special bus service for people returning home from outside the state during festivals.

Highlighting improvements in law and order, he said that the strength of the police force has been increased from 42,481 to 110,000, with a target of raising it further to 229,000.

In the education sector, more schools have been opened, contractual teachers have been appointed, and bicycle and uniform schemes have been successfully implemented. Healthcare services have also been upgraded—PMCH now has 5,300 beds, and treatment facilities at IGIMS have been improved.

The event featured 15 impressive tableaux from various departments, broadcast live across 15 locations in the city through variable message display screens. Gandhi Maidan was immersed in the colors of patriotism and the resolve for development.
