CM Nitish Kumar’s ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ in Jamui Highlights Sumit Kumar Singh’s Continued Influence

Jamui (Bihar): An interesting and politically significant moment unfolded during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ in Jamui, where he was seen actively looking for former minister Sumit Kumar Singh soon after arriving in the district.

The scene quickly drew attention among locals and sparked discussions in political circles. Observers noted that several key development projects inaugurated during the visit had their foundations laid during Singh’s earlier tenure. At that time, he served as an Independent MLA from Chakayi and was also a minister in the Bihar government.

Although Singh faced defeat in the 2025 विधानसभा elections while contesting on a JD(U) ticket, his presence and engagement during the ‘Samriddhi Yatra’ reflected his continued relevance in the region. Throughout the कार्यक्रम, he was seen accompanying the Chief Minister closely, providing detailed briefings on various projects and highlighting developmental progress in the area.

From the मंच to on-ground inspections, Singh remained at the center of the कार्यक्रम, signaling that despite electoral setbacks, his influence within the political and administrative framework remains intact.

The Jamui visit once again underscored a broader political message—that a leader’s significance is not solely defined by electoral victories or defeats, but also by their grassroots connect and contribution to development.
