CM Pema Khandu Felicitates Newly Recruited Engineers, Hands Over Appointment Orders to APESE 2026 Candidates

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday felicitated successful candidates of the Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Services Examination (APESE) 2026 and handed over appointment orders to newly recruited Assistant Engineers. The examination was conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Congratulating the candidates, the Chief Minister praised their hard work, perseverance, and dedication, stating that their success reflects both individual effort and the support of their families and well-wishers. He also expressed appreciation for parents and guardians who created a conducive environment for preparation.
Highlighting reforms in the recruitment system, Khandu recalled that prior to 2016, recruitment processes in the state lacked uniformity and transparency. He emphasized that under his leadership, significant systemic changes were introduced to ensure a fair and merit-based selection process.
He cited the establishment of the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board in 2017 as a key milestone, aimed at institutionalizing transparent recruitment for Group C and D posts. He further noted that reforms in the Public Service Commission, undertaken after past irregularities, have strengthened the credibility and efficiency of recruitment in the state.
“Today, the recruitment process in Arunachal Pradesh is among the most transparent in the country. Even candidates who could not make it to the final list have acknowledged the fairness of the system,” Khandu said.
Out of over 5,000 candidates who appeared for the APESE 2026, a total of 161 candidates were selected on merit and received appointment orders. The Chief Minister described this as a reflection of both intense competition and the integrity of the selection process.
Khandu also commended the APPSC for its professionalism, noting that it has been honoured with the State Gold Medal and the Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
Addressing the newly appointed engineers, the Chief Minister underlined their critical role in the state’s development. He said they would contribute significantly in departments such as Public Works, Rural Works, Power, Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, and Water Resources, which are central to infrastructure development and public service delivery.
He urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. “You have joined government service by choice. Always remember that you are public servants, and your primary responsibility is towards the people,” he said.
Khandu stressed the importance of timely project execution, quality work, and effective inter-departmental coordination. He also encouraged the engineers to adopt innovative and locally suitable technologies, keeping in mind Arunachal Pradesh’s unique geographical and climatic conditions.
Highlighting the state’s development journey, the Chief Minister said Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed significant progress over the past decade, supported by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving the goals of a “Viksit Bharat” and a “Viksit Arunachal,” with young officers playing a crucial role.
He also emphasized the need for continuous learning, technological awareness, and innovation in public works, urging officers to maintain a people-centric approach in governance.
Khandu further highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering youth in sectors such as sports, entrepreneurship, arts, and startups. Referring to improved performance in national sporting events and growing recognition in the startup ecosystem, he said the state is emerging as a hub of young talent and innovation.
Touching upon economic progress, he noted a steady rise in internal revenue generation and highlighted the vast potential of sectors like hydropower. He reiterated the government’s long-term vision of achieving energy-led growth and self-reliance.
“Your work, integrity, and dedication will define the future of Arunachal Pradesh. Stay committed, remain grounded, and serve with pride,” the Chief Minister added.
