CM Pema Khandu Inaugurates IOCL LPG Bottling Plant in Naharlagun, Boosting Arunachal’s Energy Self-Sufficiency

Naharlagun (Arunachal Pradesh) :  Chief Minister Pema Khandu today inaugurated the newly commissioned Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) LPG Bottling Plant at Papu Nallah (Jullang Road), Naharlagun — marking a significant milestone in Arunachal Pradesh’s journey toward energy self-sufficiency and industrial development.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to IOCL and its project partner M/s B.A. Enterprises for their dedication and efficiency in completing the state-of-the-art facility within record time.
Spread over 46,000 square meters, the plant houses three modern LPG storage bullets with a combined capacity of 87 metric tonnes and can refill 3,000 LPG cylinders per day in a single shift. This will greatly strengthen the state’s LPG distribution network, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of clean cooking fuel to thousands of households across Arunachal Pradesh.
Highlighting the importance of the project, Khandu noted that after the closure of the bottling plant at Kimin, LPG agencies in the state had faced considerable challenges as cylinders had to be sourced from Assam. “With the commissioning of this plant, the 95 gas agencies operating across the state will finally get much-needed relief,” he said.
Calling the project a symbol of “Atma Nirbhar Arunachal in action,” the Chief Minister emphasized that it would create employment opportunities, promote local enterprise, and strengthen the industrial foundation of the region.
Paying tribute to Late Bamang Raman, founder of M/s B.A. Enterprises, Khandu said, “This project is not just an infrastructure milestone; it is the realization of a visionary dream.” He also commended Smt. Bamang Amer, wife of Late Raman and the Managing Director of M/s B.A. Enterprises, for her “extraordinary resilience and leadership” in ensuring the project’s completion after her husband’s demise earlier this year.
The Chief Minister lauded Smt. Amer and her children as “role models for Arunachal’s youth and shining examples of perseverance and family enterprise.”
“This plant represents our government’s unwavering commitment to improving the ease of living for every citizen,” Khandu said, noting that a stable LPG supply aligns with the Government of India’s vision of universal clean energy access.
Reaffirming his government’s support for local entrepreneurship, Khandu urged the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to draw inspiration from Smt. Amer’s journey. “Our government will continue to support young entrepreneurs in transforming their ideas into reality and becoming architects of a ‘Viksit Arunachal’,” he added.
The commissioning of the IOCL LPG Bottling Plant marks a historic milestone in Arunachal Pradesh’s pursuit of energy security, employment generation, and self-reliant industrial growth.
