CM Yogi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for 132 Development Projects Worth ₹933 Crore in Bareilly

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Bareilly on Tuesday for a one-day tour. During his visit, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 132 development projects worth ₹933 crore. Additionally, he flagged off 2,554 new ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving facilities. On this occasion, the Chief Minister launched the statewide ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ (Let’s Go to School Campaign) and also flagged off the ‘Special Communicable Disease Control Campaign’.

Addressing a public gathering, CM Yogi remarked that previous governments associated Bareilly’s identity with the famous ‘Jhumka’ (earrings), whereas his administration has revived its ancient identity by establishing the Nath Corridor, reinforcing Bareilly’s image as ‘Nath Nagari’.

Bareilly Transformed into a Smart City
CM Yogi visited an exhibition set up by the Bareilly Development Authority showcasing various development projects. He also inspected a product exhibition by young entrepreneurs. Speaking to the people, he highlighted that in the past eight years, Bareilly has developed a new identity. Earlier known primarily for its ‘Jhumkas,’ the city is now recognized as ‘Nath Nagari’ through the Nath Corridor. Today, Bareilly is establishing its presence as a Smart City, attracting investments in dairy, medical, and other industries, which are generating new employment opportunities.

No Riots in Bareilly in 8 Years – CM Yogi
CM Yogi pointed out that before 2017, Bareilly witnessed 5-7 riots regularly. However, in the past eight years, not a single riot has occurred. “Now, Bareilly is not a city of riots but of progress,” he asserted. Issuing a stern warning to rioters, he stated that those who attempt to incite violence will have their properties seized and distributed among the poor.

Commitment to Ensure Education for Every Child
Emphasizing the importance of education, CM Yogi launched the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ from Bareilly to the entire state. He distributed stationery, books, and toffees to newly enrolled students. He urged the people of Bareilly and Uttar Pradesh to participate in the campaign, ensuring that no child is deprived of education. He stressed that education is not just the government’s responsibility but also society’s.

Recalling the situation before 2017, he stated that the Basic Education Council was in poor condition, with schools lacking essential facilities such as toilets, drinking water, furniture, and smart classrooms. At that time, 1.34 crore students were enrolled, but 60% did not attend school regularly. However, under Operation Kayakalp, 96% of schools now have modern amenities. Last year, ₹1,200 per child was transferred directly to the accounts of parents through DBT to purchase uniforms, bags, books, shoes, socks, and sweaters.

Establishment of ‘CM Composite Schools’ in Every District
CM Yogi announced the launch of CM Composite Schools in every district, starting with 57 districts where Atal Residential Schools have not been established yet. The initiative aims to provide education from nursery to 12th grade in a single campus, with facilities for sports, skill development, and residential accommodation for teachers.

Flagging Off 2,554 New Ambulances
CM Yogi flagged off 2,554 new ambulances to strengthen healthcare services. Highlighting UP’s battle against communicable diseases, he mentioned that encephalitis has been eradicated in Eastern UP, malaria is under control, and measures are being taken to combat dengue and chikungunya.

He also noted that in 2017, the response time for 108 ambulance services was 17-19 minutes, which has now been reduced to 7 minutes. The introduction of new ambulances will further improve emergency response times.

44 New Government Medical Colleges in 8 Years
Highlighting progress in healthcare, CM Yogi stated that from 1947 to 2017, only 12 government medical colleges were established in UP, but 44 new government medical colleges have been built in the last 8 years, increasing the total to over 80 medical colleges, including private institutions. UP has also become the leading state in issuing Ayushman Cards, providing ₹5 lakh health insurance to 10 crore people annually.

14 Lakh Cattle Being Cared for in 7,700 Shelters
CM Yogi emphasized that 7,700 cattle shelters have been set up across UP, where 14 lakh stray cattle are being taken care of. Farmers adopting these cattle receive ₹1,500 per month per animal, encouraging cattle welfare and economic support.

“SP Leaders Find Cow Dung Smelly, But Not Their Actions” – Yogi’s Jibe at Opposition
Criticizing the Samajwadi Party (SP), CM Yogi remarked that SP leaders abandoned cows and now complain about the smell of cow dung. “They used to send cattle to slaughterhouses, and when we shut those down, it troubled them. Those with ties to butchers will naturally find cow dung unpleasant,” he said.

Development of MSME Industrial Township in Bareilly
CM Yogi distributed loans to young entrepreneurs under the CM Youth Entrepreneur Scheme and handed over tablets and smartphones to five sub-inspectors and constables of Bareilly division. He also inspected the proposed MSME Industrial Township in Bareilly, which will cover 113 hectares and house over 150 industries, generating employment and boosting economic growth.
