Coincidence or Mystery? Vijay Rupani’s Car Number Was 1206 — The Plane Crash Also Happened on 12/06
Ahmedabad (Gujrat) : A surprising coincidence related to former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has sparked curiosity and speculation. Reports reveal that the government vehicle he used bore the registration number GJ18-G-1206. What’s striking is that the recent Air India Dreamliner crash also occurred on June 12 — i.e., 12/06.
This unusual coincidence has triggered a wave of discussion across social media platforms. While some users are dismissing it as a mere accident of numbers, others are viewing it as a “divine sign” or mystical coincidence.
Notably, the Air India Dreamliner took off from Ahmedabad Airport on June 12 but crashed minutes later due to a technical fault. Thankfully, there were no casualties, though the aircraft suffered substantial damage.
Meanwhile, Vijay Rupani, who has been staying away from active politics, is now back in public conversations — not for a political statement, but because of this mysterious link between his car number 1206 and the crash date 12/06.
This has led to one burning question:
Is it just a coincidence?
Or does it hint at something deeper and unexplained?
Vijay Rupani: From Businessman to Chief Minister
Vijay Rupani carved a niche for himself in Gujarat politics as a calm and capable leader. Rising from a modest background, he worked through the ranks of the Jan Sangh and later the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), eventually taking over the reins of Gujarat as Chief Minister from 2016 to 2021.
Early Life and Education
Born on August 2, 1956, in Rangoon (now Yangon), Myanmar, Rupani’s family moved to Rajkot, Gujarat, after returning to India. He earned a B.A. and an L.L.B. from S.D. College, Rajkot.
Entry into Politics
Rupani began his political journey in the 1970s with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He was imprisoned during the Emergency (1975–77) and later became actively involved in the Jan Sangh and subsequently the BJP, where he rose through the organizational ranks.

Between 1998 and 2006, he served as a Rajkot Municipal Corporation councillor and later became Mayor.
In 2006, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha representing Gujarat.
In 2014, he won the Rajkot West assembly by-election, becoming an MLA for the first time.
After Anandiben Patel resigned in 2016, Rupani was appointed Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Following the BJP’s victory in the 2017 state elections, he was sworn in again for a second term.
Key Achievements as CM

Resignation from CM Post
In a sudden move in September 2021, Rupani resigned as Chief Minister — a decision seen as part of internal party restructuring. He was succeeded by Bhupendra Patel.
Vijay Rupani’s political journey is a testament to dedication, discipline, and silent leadership. Whether the recent number-date coincidence is a mere fluke or something more mysterious, it has undeniably brought his name back into the spotlight.
