Daddy Fulfills Lifelong Dream — Film ‘Aaradhya’ to Release on July 18
Mumbai: Age is just a number — a belief perfectly embodied by 84-year-old Professor Amarnath Sharma, affectionately known as “Daddy” in Varanasi. Defying age and convention, he has turned his lifelong dream into reality by producing a Hindi feature film titled ‘Aaradhya’, which is set to hit theatres on July 18, 2025. Originally from Varanasi, Daddy came to Mumbai in the 1960s and worked as a painter at the iconic RK Studios. Alongside, he dedicated over four decades to theatre as a director and performer. But deep inside, he always carried the dream of making a film. At the age of 84, that dream has finally taken form. After facing numerous challenges, Daddy is now eagerly looking forward to sharing his cinematic vision with audiences across India. His journey proves that passion and perseverance truly know no age.
Aaradhya is not just a film — it’s a heartfelt expression of Indian culture, family values, sibling love, and spiritual themes. According to Sharma, the film is his attempt to bring audiences back to the roots of Indian cinema, away from the overpowering influence of Western culture.The film stars Raja Guru, whom Sharma considers like a son. Raja not only played the lead role but also stood by Daddy throughout the filmmaking process, offering emotional and moral support.
Produced under the banner of Ardhanareshwar Creations, Aaradhya is co-produced by Tushar Sharma and directed by Sujeet Goswami. Apart from Raja Guru, the film also features Gyan Prakash, Pankaj Berry, Deepak Dutt Sharma, and Rupali Jadhav in key roles. The soundtrack includes vocals by Shahid Mallya, Rahul Saxena, Farhad Bhiwandiwala, and Kritika Srivastava.
