Daring U.S. Rescue Mission Inside Iran: Two Downed Pilots Saved in High-Risk Operation
New Delhi: In a dramatic and high-risk military operation, U.S. forces reportedly carried out a daring rescue mission deep inside Iranian territory, successfully extracting two American pilots whose fighter jet had been shot down. The operation, described as “unprecedented” by former U.S. President Donald Trump, has sparked global attention due to its complexity and secrecy.
According to reports, one of the pilots was rescued shortly after the aircraft was downed. However, the second pilot managed to evade capture by hiding in a remote mountainous region. Iranian authorities, along with local networks, had allegedly announced rewards for information leading to his capture, intensifying the urgency of the mission.
Before locating the second pilot, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is said to have launched a deception campaign. False information was circulated suggesting that the pilot had already been found and was being moved out of Iran by ground routes. This strategic misinformation reportedly helped U.S. intelligence pinpoint the pilot’s actual location in a mountainous hideout.
Trump, posting on Truth Social, claimed that this was the first time in military history that two American pilots had been rescued separately from enemy territory. He emphasized, “We never leave an American soldier behind,” highlighting the mission’s symbolic and strategic importance.
The rescue operation reportedly lasted around seven hours in daylight and involved multiple challenges. U.S. forces faced attacks on two Black Hawk helicopter helicopters and technical failures in transport aircraft, forcing the military to destroy some of its own equipment during the mission.
Despite these obstacles, both pilots were successfully evacuated. Trump stated that one of the rescued pilots was “seriously injured,” but no American casualties were reported during the mission. U.S. officials maintained strict silence during the operation to avoid compromising its success, with the White House and Pentagon withholding information for over 24 hours after the initial incident.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media claimed that its forces targeted and downed U.S. aircraft involved in the rescue, including transport planes and helicopters. Reports also indicated casualties from airstrikes in southwestern Iran, where the downed jet was believed to have crashed.
Further claims suggested that additional U.S. aircraft, including an F-15E Strike Eagle and an A-10 Thunderbolt II, were also shot down in the region, though details remain unclear and unverified.
