Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Jan Seva Camp Office, Lauded by LG and Ministers
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated a new camp office named ‘Mukhyamantri Jan Seva Sadan’ at her official residence. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra, MLAs, and senior officials.
The primary objective of this Jan Seva Centre is to directly address the grievances of Delhi’s residents and ensure timely resolutions by connecting them with the Chief Minister’s Office.
LG V.K. Saxena’s Remarks
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena said: “I extend my best wishes to the Chief Minister of Delhi. This initiative reflects her deep sensitivity towards the people and their issues. In the coming days, this very residence will become the center for resolving citizens’ concerns. It’s a simple residence, transformed into a service-oriented office.”
Minister Kapil Mishra Targets Previous Government
Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra, in his remarks, took a sharp dig at the previous AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal.
“Today marks the inauguration of the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan, a space fully equipped to address public grievances. For the first time in 11 years, the Chief Minister’s residence has been opened to the general public.”
He further said: “In the past 11 years, media, MLAs, or even ministers weren’t allowed to enter. The entire Jan Seva Sadan has been built with a smaller budget than what was spent on curtains in Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’. The tender process was also made public. Those who used to hide from the people are now hiding their faces, while today, we have a Chief Minister whose doors are open to every citizen.”
Office Open to the Public
At Jan Seva Sadan, ordinary citizens can now register their complaints, meet officials, and receive follow-ups—all under one roof. The Chief Minister’s Office has been restructured to follow a citizen-centric governance model.
Conclusion
CM Rekha Gupta’s initiative is being seen as a major step toward bridging the gap between the government and the people in Delhi. While its effectiveness will be judged in the days to come, the inauguration of Jan Seva Sadan marks the beginning of a new chapter in participatory and transparent governance in the capital.
