“Do You Have Ties with Pakistan?” — Amit Shah’s Sharp Retort Triggers Uproar in Parliament as He Slams Akhilesh Yadav

New Delhi: During a heated debate in the Monsoon Session of Parliament today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the recent counter-terror operations in Jammu & Kashmir — Operation Mahadev and Operation Sindoor — delivering a strong message on national security and terrorism. He informed the Lok Sabha that the three terrorists killed in Operation Mahadev were the same individuals involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

Shah stated, “The Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police jointly executed this operation. I am pleased to inform the House that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, our forces not only eliminated the terrorists but also took down their masterminds in Operation Sindoor.”

However, as Shah was detailing the government’s action against terrorism, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav interjected with a remark referencing Pakistan. Shah immediately shot back, saying:
“Akhilesh ji, please sit down and listen to my full reply — you will understand everything. Brother, don’t let the religion of terrorists make you emotional.”

The Home Minister then delivered a pointed question:
“Do you have connections in Pakistan?”
This sharp comment caused a storm in the House, with opposition MPs erupting in protest.

Responding to the chaos, Shah said, “Yesterday, these very people were asking where the terrorists came from. Yes, it’s our responsibility — we’re in government. But I want to ask: when you were in power, why didn’t you take responsibility?”

After the Speaker calmed the House, Shah resumed his remarks, elaborating on how Indian intelligence and security agencies identified and eliminated the terrorist handlers. He said, “I can give you names, locations, and even the hour, minute, and second when these handlers were taken down.”

He named Mohammad Yusuf Azhar and Mohammad Jameel among the terrorists neutralized, adding, “Of the 10 terrorists I’ve named, 8 were active during the time of Chidambaram & Company.”

Shah further explained that Operation Mahadev was initiated on July 11 after a Chinese satellite phone was intercepted in the Baisaran region. The terrorists’ location was confirmed by July 22, and a joint cordon operation was launched by the Army, CRPF, and local police.

He added that the NIA had already arrested those who sheltered the terrorists. Once the terrorists’ bodies were brought to Srinagar, the arrested individuals confirmed their identities. Forensic tests had already been completed on the cartridge shells recovered from the scene, and AK-47s and M9 carbines were seized from the terrorists.

Following Shah’s aggressive remarks, the opposition continued its uproar, but the Home Minister stood firm, declaring,
“Terrorism and terrorists will receive no leniency — regardless of their religion or country of origin.”
