Dr. Ajay Kumar Karn Appointed as Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda University, Pays Courtesy Visit to Assam Governor

Guwahati (Assam): Dr. Ajay Kumar Karn, Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda University, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Governor of Assam, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, at Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, the Chairman of Swami Vivekananda University and senior BJP leader, Shri Manish Singh, was also present.

During the meeting, there was a positive and constructive discussion on key issues related to education, society, and development in the state. The delegates briefed the Hon’ble Governor on the university’s activities, objectives, and its contribution to higher education in Assam. The Governor appreciated the efforts being made by the university in the field of education and social upliftment and offered his guidance for future endeavors.

It is worth noting that Dr. Ajay Kumar Karn, a native of Teghra village in Madhubani district, Bihar, was recently granted formal approval for his appointment as the first Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda University, Kokrajhar by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam and Visitor of the university, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya.

As per the official communication from the Raj Bhavan, Shri Bidit Das, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Governor, conveyed this decision through a formal letter addressed to Dr. Sandhya Kumari, Chairperson of the Social Action and Research Foundation (SARF), New Delhi.

This appointment is seen as a significant step towards strengthening the academic and institutional foundation of the university. The Governor’s approval underlines the commitment to bolstering the higher education ecosystem in Assam. Dr. Karn is widely recognized for his extensive experience and contribution in the fields of education and social development, and his leadership is expected to bring a new direction and momentum to quality education and research at Swami Vivekananda University.
