Easter Sunday Celebrated with Joy of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection
Palamu (Jharkhand): Easter Sunday was celebrated across Palamu district as the Festival of Resurrection. The day began with people visiting Abadganj Cemetery in Daltonganj early in the morning, offering candles and garlands at the graves of their ancestors in remembrance. At Union Church, worship services began at 6 AM, where the message of Jesus Christ’s resurrection was shared with the faithful. A special Mass was also conducted.
On this occasion, Pastor Prabhu Ranjan Masih said, “Easter Sunday is celebrated three days after Good Friday. On this day, Lord Jesus rose from the dead. This festival is observed with joy to commemorate His resurrection.” He explained how, after Jesus was crucified, despair had gripped His followers. But when He rose again on Sunday, it brought immense joy and renewed hope among them.
Jesus Christ preached the values of righteousness, peace, faith, and humanity. His resurrection, Pastor Masih added, serves as a message to believers that even in the worst of times, one can endure by holding on to faith in God. During the prayer meeting, the glory of Jesus was praised, and the congregation sang hymns and offered collective prayers.
Notable attendees included Dr. Neelam Horo, Dr. Dora, Babli, Rinki, Neelam, Wilson, Anurag, Arpan, and many other members of the Christian community.
Similarly, at the Queen of Peace Church located on Station Road, Easter mass began at 7 AM. The main celebrant, Father Sanjay Gidh, led the service along with associate priests Arvind Munda and Anees. The priests emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a message of hope for all believers.
At the CNI Church in Redma, Easter worship began at 6 AM, conducted by Pastor Sanjeet Khalkho. He shared that just as Jesus Christ rose from the dead after His crucifixion, so too will His followers experience resurrection after death.
Christian community members including Masidhan Gidh, Alban Khakha, Anukaran Tirkey, Sunil Tirkey, Hiramani Tirkey, and Sunny John were present at the celebration.
