Echo of Women’s Power: ‘The Narmada Story’ Poster Sparks Curiosity 

Mumbai : On the occasion of International Women’s Day, director Zaigham Imam unveiled the first poster of his upcoming film The Narmada Story, offering a glimpse into a powerful and socially relevant narrative. Set against the backdrop of Madhya Pradesh and the Narmada river belt, the film is a gripping social crime drama inspired by true events, highlighting women’s courage, resilience, and their relentless fight for justice.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Ashwini Kalsekar, Simala Prasad, and National Award-winning actress Anjali Patil in lead roles. Veteran actors Zarina Wahab, Raghubir Yadav, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharad Singh, and Ishtiyak Khan also play significant characters, adding depth and strength to the narrative.
The story revolves around a tribal woman, Agni Dhurve, who is willing to go to any extent to protect her daughter. Her battle takes a decisive turn when Police Inspector Narmada Raikwar joins her fight. Interestingly, the role is played by real-life IPS officer and actress Simala Prasad. Together, the two women stand against powerful criminals who believe they are above the law.
Speaking about the film, director Zaigham Imam said, “This film is inspired by real incidents from rural India. Releasing its first poster on Women’s Day makes the moment even more special for me. It is a story about a mother’s indomitable courage and the integrity of a woman police officer. When women rise against injustice, change begins.”
Co-producer Piyush Singh added, “The Narmada Story is not just a crime drama but a tribute to women who dare to stand against injustice despite difficult circumstances. With powerful performers like Anjali Patil, Zarina Wahab, and Raghubir Yadav, the story gains even greater impact.”
The film is being produced by AB Infossoft Creation, with Golden Ratio Films as co-producers. According to the makers, The Narmada Story, inspired by true events and the spirit of women’s empowerment, is set for a theatrical release this summer, promising both an engaging cinematic experience and a thought-provoking social message.
