Election Commission in Action Mode for Bihar Assembly Polls; 9-Member Team Arrives in Patna
Patna (Bihar): The Election Commission has swung into full action mode ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. As part of its preparations, a high-level 9-member team from the Commission arrived in Patna on Monday. The team was formally received by officials at the Patna airport.
Three-Day Visit to Review Election Preparedness
The team will stay in Bihar for the next three days to conduct a comprehensive review of the poll preparations. On the first day, the team is scheduled to hold a crucial meeting with top state officials in Patna to discuss key aspects such as the revision of the electoral roll, arrangements at polling stations, security measures, and the overall law and order situation.
Team to Visit Districts for Ground-Level Assessment
After the Patna meeting, the team will travel to various districts to assess preparations at the grassroots level. District-wise meetings with District Magistrates and election officials will be held to evaluate the status of polling stations, security arrangements, deployment of polling personnel, and technical readiness.
Senior and Technical Officers Part of the Delegation
The special team includes several senior officers of the Election Commission, along with technical experts and officials responsible for law and order and administrative management. Based on their observations, the team will prepare a detailed report.
Report to be Submitted to Election Commission in Delhi
After completing the three-day inspection, the team will return to Delhi and submit its report to the Election Commission. It is expected that the date and schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections will be finalized based on this report. There is also a possibility that the Chief Election Commissioner himself may visit Bihar after this.
The Election Commission’s proactive approach clearly indicates that the formal announcement of the Bihar Assembly elections may happen soon.
