Ganga River Water Level Reaches Warning Mark, Low-Lying Areas Inundated
Patna (Bihar): The water level of the Ganga River has been steadily rising and reached the warning level on Saturday. Videos from Gandhi Ghat and Krishna Ghat show the river water overflowing the ghats and entering nearby low-lying areas. This has raised concerns among local residents and put administrative preparedness to the test.
Flooding has been reported in areas located along the riverbanks, forcing many people to move towards safer locations. The administration has deployed relief and rescue teams which remain on high alert, although locals are also taking precautions on their own.
To monitor the situation, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed. An alert has also been issued in Patna and other districts situated along the banks of the Ganga River.
