Government Restores RODTEP Benefits for AA Holders, SEZs, and EOUs on Exported Goods

New Delhi : In a significant move to boost India’s export competitiveness, the Government of India has reinstated RODTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) benefits for Advance Authorisation (AA) holders, Export Oriented Units (EOUs), and Special Economic Zones (SEZs). The benefits will apply to all eligible exports made on or after June 1, 2025. Previously, these categories were eligible for RODTEP benefits only until February 5, 2025, after which the scheme’s scope was restricted. This reinstatement ensures a level playing field for all exporters, supporting a wide range of sectors in global markets.

Implemented from January 1, 2021, RODTEP reimburses embedded taxes and duties not covered under any other scheme. It aligns with WTO guidelines and is fully digital, ensuring transparency and efficiency. So far, over ₹57,976.78 crore has been disbursed under the scheme until March 31, 2025, highlighting its key role in supporting India’s merchandise exports. For FY 2025–26, the government has allocated ₹18,233 crore, covering 10,780 HS lines for DTA exports and 10,795 HS lines for AA/EOU/SEZ exports. The move reinforces India’s commitment to creating a competitive, fair, and WTO-compliant export ecosystem, enhancing long-term trade growth and economic resilience.
