Heatwave Grips Haryana and Punjab, IMD Warns of Intense Heat for Next Three Days
Chandigarh : The intense heatwave conditions across Haryana and Punjab show no signs of relenting. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning stating that the region will continue to experience scorching heat for at least the next three days. Surinder Paul, Director of IMD Chandigarh, said, “Heatwave conditions persist in parts of Haryana and Punjab. In Punjab, districts like Firozpur, Fazilka, Bathinda, Muktsar, Mansa, and Sangrur have recorded temperatures soaring above 45°C.” He also noted that similar conditions are prevailing in Haryana districts bordering Rajasthan, where hot winds and searing sunlight are making daily life increasingly difficult.
According to the IMD forecast, the extreme heat is expected to continue over the next three days. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against heatstroke and avoid stepping out during the hottest parts of the day.
