Holy Family’s ‘Home Medicare’ Emerges as a New Lifeline

Mumbai : Holy Family Hospital and Medical Research Centre has taken a significant step toward extending healthcare beyond hospital walls with the launch of its new initiative, ‘Home Medicare.’ The service is designed to deliver comprehensive medical care directly to patients’ homes, offering doctor visits, nursing care, physiotherapy, home sample collection, and medicine delivery.
This initiative brings much-needed relief to patients who find it difficult to visit the hospital frequently or prefer recovering in the comfort and familiarity of their homes. By combining convenience with professional medical standards, the hospital aims to ensure continuity of care without compromising on quality or safety.
The innovative service was officially inaugurated on February 11, 2026, in the hospital’s front garden. Honorary Consultant Dr. Russell Pinto (MBBS, MS – General Surgery, FMAS) formally launched the ‘Home Medicare’ service. During the ceremony, the dedicated mobile medical van was blessed by the Parish Priest of St. Andrew’s Church, marking the beginning of a new chapter in community-centered healthcare.
The service is especially beneficial for homebound patients, senior citizens, individuals recovering from surgery, and those managing chronic illnesses. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pinto emphasized that many patients require continuous medical supervision but may feel discomfort or difficulty traveling to hospitals. ‘Home Medicare’ bridges this gap by delivering hospital-level care outside the hospital premises—without compromising on professional standards, safety, or personalized attention.
With the launch of ‘Home Medicare,’ Holy Family Hospital has reaffirmed its commitment to making quality healthcare more accessible, personalized, and compassionate. This initiative stands as a symbol of trust and a progressive step forward in Mumbai’s evolving healthcare landscape.
