If Lalu’s sons win, ‘Kidnapping Department’ will open; Jungle Raj will return to Bihar: Amit Shah

Jamui (Bihar): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday expressed confidence in the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and warned the people that if they stray from voting for the Lotus (BJP symbol) or the Arrow (JDU symbol) in the second phase of Bihar elections on November 11, the dreaded Jungle Raj could return to the state.
Addressing a public rally in Jamui, where four assembly constituencies will vote in the second phase, Shah urged people to ensure that all four seats go to the NDA. Praising the initiatives of the NDA-led government in Bihar, he highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to make India free from Naxalism, noting how regions like Jamui—once a Naxal stronghold—are now witnessing peaceful elections.
Shah said, “In this Naxal-hit region, nearly 150 Naxalites once hijacked the Dhanbad-Patna Express, killing three people. This entire area was under their control. But it was Prime Minister Modi’s leadership that made this region Naxal-free. Earlier, people could vote only till 3 PM, but now voting continues till 5 PM.”
Taking a sharp dig at Lalu Prasad Yadav, Shah said, “If the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) comes to power, they will open a new ‘Department of Kidnapping’. While we promise to create a new department to make Bihar flood-free, if Lalu’s sons win, they’ll open a department for abductions.”
He further added that over the last decade, Prime Minister Modi has built significant infrastructure in Bihar — including roads, bridges, ethanol plants, and sugar mills — and the next five years will focus on transforming Bihar into a fully developed state. “We will not allow Jungle Raj to return,” Shah asserted.
Referring to the first phase of the Bihar elections held on November 6, Shah said that the ‘Lalu-Rahul alliance’ — referring to RJD and Congress — was completely wiped out. “The first phase of polling has ended. The Lalu-Rahul alliance has been wiped out. Jamui should follow the same path. Not a single seat should go to them — all four must go to the NDA,” he said.
