IICA to Open First Regional Campus in Northeast to Boost Corporate Governance and Development
New Delhi: In a significant step towards inclusive national development, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has formally acquired five acres of land in New Shillong Township, Meghalaya, for its first regional campus. The move marks IICA’s major expansion into the Northeast, reinforcing its commitment to corporate excellence and sustainable development. The land transfer ceremony was attended by Meghalaya Chief Secretary D.P. Wahlang and MCA Secretary Deepti Gaur Mukerjee. IICA Director General Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh called the Shillong campus “our first child outside Delhi,” emphasizing its role in supporting entrepreneurship, capacity-building, and good governance aligned with national priorities like Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The campus, to be built with ₹100.95 crore under PM-DevINE, will focus on training in corporate governance, ESG, CSR, insolvency, and board leadership. It aims to transform Shillong into a hub of academic and policy excellence, fostering skilled professionals and ethical leaders from the heart of Northeast India.
