IOC, Abhinav Bindra Foundation and Reliance Foundation Celebrate Olympic Day 2025

New Delhi : To mark Olympic Day on June 23, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), in collaboration with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation and Reliance Foundation, is hosting the “Let’s Move +1” campaign across India. Building on the global “Let’s Move” initiative, this year’s edition encourages people to get active with a companion—be it a friend, colleague, or family member. As part of the celebrations, over 50 sports venues across India will be open to the public for free, offering activities such as football, cricket, badminton, yoga, and pickleball in pairs. The campaign aims to promote physical and mental well-being through shared movement experiences.

Under the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), over 12 million schoolchildren in Chandigarh, Odisha, and Assam are expected to participate in physical activities like group yoga, dance, and traditional sports. Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra emphasized the power of sport to inspire and unite, while Olympian Deepika Kumari highlighted the importance of having a supportive companion in one’s sporting journey.

Launched with the WHO in 2023, “Let’s Move” has already reached over 20 million people in India, encouraging a more active and connected lifestyle through sports.
