Jaipur/Berlin: The world’s largest travel trade fair, ITB Berlin 2026, concluded successfully on Thursday after three days of global participation. Rajasthan Tourism made a strong impression at Pavilion-200, showcasing the state’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and diverse tourism experiences to the international travel industry.
Led by Rajasthan Tourism Commissioner Rukmani Riyar, the state delegation actively participated in the event. Additional Director Pawan Jain and Joint Director Dr. Puneeta Singh were also present in Berlin. The team engaged with tour operators, travel agents, and tourism companies from various countries to explore collaboration opportunities and expand Rajasthan’s footprint in the European market.
Pavilion Reflects Rajasthan’s Traditional Architecture
Pavilion-200 was designed in line with Rajasthan’s traditional architectural style. Visitors were offered glimpses of the state’s historic forts and palaces, desert landscapes, wildlife destinations, and colorful folk culture. The display generated significant interest among foreign delegates seeking new and immersive travel experiences in India.
During the fair, several B2B meetings were held with key stakeholders from Germany and other major European markets. Discussions focused on special travel packages, cultural circuits, and experience-based tourism products tailored for European travelers.
Roadshow and Digital Outreach Steal the Spotlight
A dedicated roadshow at the Rajasthan pavilion attracted around 35 travel bloggers and digital influencers. They were introduced to the state’s heritage tourism, desert adventure activities, cultural festivals, and wildlife tourism offerings. Emphasis was also placed on enhancing Rajasthan’s global outreach through social media and digital platforms.
The Rajasthan Quiz and distribution of traditional souvenirs added to the excitement at the pavilion. Guests were also treated to light Indian refreshments, offering a taste of the state’s renowned hospitality.
Highlighting Architectural Parallels
In discussions with European tour operators, Commissioner Rukmani Riyar pointed out the fascinating architectural similarities between forts in Rajasthan and Germany. She noted that despite geographical differences, both regions historically built forts on elevated terrains with comparable defensive structures.
Earlier, the Rajasthan pavilion was inaugurated by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the presence of India’s Ambassador to Germany Ajit Vinayak Gupte.
Europe Remains a Key Tourism Market
Tourism experts note that Europe has long been an important source market for Rajasthan. Tourists from Germany, France, and the United Kingdom continue to show strong interest in the state’s historical landmarks, handicrafts, and cultural experiences.
Overall, Rajasthan’s impactful participation at ITB Berlin 2026 is seen as a significant step toward strengthening ties with the European tourism market. The new connections established during the event are expected to boost tourist arrivals from Europe and provide fresh momentum to the state’s tourism economy in the coming years.
