JB Pharma Sets Asia Book of Records for Highest Number of Microalbuminuria Tests for Hypertension Patients in India
New Delhi : JB Pharma has made significant strides in tackling hypertension and its impact on kidney health in India. In the run-up to World Hypertension Day on May 17, the company announced that it has entered the Asia Book of Records by conducting 17,202 microalbuminuria tests within a single week. This achievement is part of JB Pharma’s “One Mission, Nephro Protection” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about early detection of kidney damage in hypertension patients. The data from these tests revealed that 67.04% of the screened hypertensive patients showed early signs of potential kidney damage.
Mr. Dilip Singh Rathore, President – India Business, JB Pharma, stated, “This recognition from Asia Book of Records underscores our long-standing commitment to improving care for high blood pressure patients in India. With over 500,000 screenings over the past 8 years, this milestone further reflects our focus on kidney protection linked to hypertension.”
Across India, about 18% of individuals tested by JB Pharma were found to be hypertensive. Among them, approximately 67% exhibited early indicators of kidney stress or damage.
Mr. Vikas Khare, Executive Vice President, India Business – Chronic Cluster, emphasized the urgency of early intervention. “Microalbuminuria testing plays a crucial role in identifying early kidney stress in hypertension patients—often before chronic kidney disease develops. Detecting this early allows timely action to preserve kidney function and improve patient outcomes. With this record achievement, JB Pharma continues to move forward on our promise of being ‘Good People for Good Health’.”
Given that 40–60% of kidney failure cases in India are linked to high blood pressure and diabetes, JB Pharma is also promoting accurate BP measurement and management through its longstanding campaign “BP Right Karo.” Over the next 2–3 years, the company aims to service BP monitors in 10,000 clinics to ensure accurate readings and better health decisions
Through these impactful efforts, JB Pharma reaffirms its leadership in managing hypertension and protecting patients at risk of kidney damage, working with data-driven strategies and community engagement to bring meaningful change in heart and kidney care.
