Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Big Statement: Liquor Prohibition Law to Be Reviewed Soon; Bihar May Get Two to Three Deputy CMs

Patna :  NDA leader and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has made several significant remarks on the current political developments in Bihar. He stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already reviewed the liquor prohibition law three times, and after the formation of the new government, he will present his views clearly. Manjhi added that he sees this law from the perspective of public welfare and will share his detailed opinion once the cabinet is formed.
Manjhi on the Liquor Prohibition Law
Manjhi said that Nitish Kumar adjusts his policies according to the situation and has previously adopted a liberal approach toward the prohibition law. He added, “Nitish Kumar is a very complex person, he understands things and modifies his views as needed. Some issues have arisen due to administrative shortcomings, which will be corrected once the new government takes charge.”
Indication on Deputy CMs: Two Confirmed, Third Possible
Manjhi revealed that Bihar will certainly have two deputy chief ministers, and the possibility of having a third is also open. However, he clarified that HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha) has made no demands regarding the post.
When asked whether HAM would get the Deputy CM position, he said, “This decision lies with the policy-makers, I cannot comment.”
Regret Over Not Getting Recognized Party Status
Manjhi admitted his disappointment that despite the election results, HAM could not achieve the status of a recognized party. He pointed out that:

Even after 10 years, the Election Commission does not consult them

They must purchase voter lists, while recognized parties receive them free of cost

They demanded 15 seats but were given only 6

Their strike rate dropped from 60% to 84%, preventing recognition

He said, “Had we won at least 8 seats, we would have achieved recognized party status.”
Sharp Attack on Lalu Family and Tejashwi Yadav
Manjhi launched a strong attack on Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad regarding the Rohini Acharya issue. He said that what happened with Rohini was a very serious crime, yet Lalu Prasad continues to support Tejashwi.
“The Lalu family should be ashamed of their actions. They made false promises throughout the election, and the public rejected them. This is a landslide verdict in Bihar,” Manjhi said.
Manjhi on Political Developments
Speaking about JD(U) working president and Union Minister Lalan Singh’s visit to Delhi, Manjhi said that not everything can be discussed over the phone; meeting in person is sometimes necessary.
On Chief Minister Nitish Kumar not resigning despite the cabinet stepping down, Manjhi said he would comment on this matter in detail on Thursday.

Manjhi’s statements have stirred fresh political activity in Bihar. His remarks on the liquor policy, the future structure of the government, and internal NDA dynamics are being viewed as crucial indicators of upcoming political decisions in the state.
