JSW MG Motor India Achieves 80% Women Workforce in Battery Assembly Shop
New Delhi : JSW MG Motor India has reached a significant milestone by deploying 80% women workforce at its Battery Assembly Shop in Halol, Gujarat. The facility, responsible for assembling battery packs for the MG Comet and MG Windsor EVs, produces an average of 140 units per day. With 41% overall female representation, JSW MG is actively redefining gender roles in the automotive manufacturing sector. The battery assembly shop operates across three shifts, managed largely by women, and is structured into four key segments to ensure high precision and safety.Anurag Mehrotra, MD of JSW MG Motor India, said, “Diversity powers innovation. The battery assembly process includes stringent safety and performance checks—ranging from voltage testing and laser welding to charging, discharging, and final integration—ensuring quality and reliability in every EV battery produced.
