Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 : Maharishi Agastya Vahan team offers prayers at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Varanasi (UP) : As part of Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, Maharishi Agastya Vahana team paid obeisance at Sri Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Thursday. On the arrival of the group, an atmosphere of special enthusiasm was seen in the temple premises. The Vishwanath temple priests welcomed all the guests from Tenkasi with traditional flower shower, Damru playing and Veda chanting.

The guests also paid homage to Baba Vishwanath with chants of Jaikara. After darshan, the members were given a detailed tour of the grand corridor of Kashi Vishwanath Dham by the temple administration. During the visit, the team members were briefed in detail about the ancient history of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, its architectural splendor, newly constructed facilities and the ever-increasing number of visitors.

On completion of the tour, special arrangements were made for lunch for the Maharishi Agastya Vahan team at the Annakshetra run by the temple. The traditional prasad served at the Annakshetra gave all the guests an in-depth experience of ‘Kashi’s seva-parampara’, ‘atithi-devo-bhava’ and its spiritual culture.

The historic car rally of Maharishi Agastya Vahan started from ‘Dakshin Kashi’ Tirunelveli (Tenkasi) on 2nd December and traversed a distance of about 2,460 kms reviving the memory of the unbroken stream of cultural, linguistic and spiritual unity from Tamil Nadu to North India. 15-20 vehicles and about 100 participants of the rally were given a grand welcome at Mohan Sarai Kashi Dwar on 10th December, where hundreds of activists and citizens including MLC Hansraj Vishwakarma welcomed them by showering flowers and garlanding. On arrival at Namo Ghat, the team was accorded a ceremonial welcome by Divisional Commissioner, Varanasi Zone, Shri S. Rajalingam (IAS) and District Magistrate Shri Satyendra Kumar (IAS).
