Large Cache of Arms and Explosives Seized in Manipur
Imphal (Manipur): Security forces in Manipur have recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during a search operation. The operation was conducted in the S. Mongpi Ridge area under New Keithelmanbi Police Station in Kangpokpi district, and in Twichin and Saibol villages under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in Imphal East district.
From the S. Mongpi Ridge area, the forces recovered:
One 7.62 mm SLR rifle
One .303 rifle
One SBBL gun
Two 9 mm pistols (with magazines)
Three cartridges of SBBL gun
Three cartridges of .303 rifle
One modified long-range pumpi bomb
Five modified medium-range pumpi bombs
Two modified short-range pumpi bombs
Three tear smoke shells
One 38 mm anti-riot cartridge
One Baofeng radio set
From Twichin and Saibol villages, the recovered items include:
One 12-bore single barrel rifle
Seven heavy bipod-mounted pumpi guns (60 mm, 55 mm, 45 mm calibers)
Various pumpi bombs:
82 mm – 3 units
75 mm – 23 units
60 mm – 11 units
45 mm – 21 units
Fin-stabilized 45 mm – 11 units
Empty shells (45 mm) – 9 units
Two Burmese electronic IEDs (5 kg each)
Three 12-bore cartridges
Two Baofeng radio sets
In addition, the security forces destroyed 13 tactical bunkers set up by armed Kuki groups in the region. This operation has contributed significantly to strengthening the security situation in the area.
