Major Setback for Mahagathbandhan in Kaimur: RJD Candidate Shweta Suman’s Nomination Cancelled from Mohania

Kaimur (Bihar): The Mahagathbandhan suffered yet another major setback ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections as the nomination of RJD candidate Shweta Suman from Mohania (204 – Scheduled Caste reserved seat) was cancelled. Upon receiving the news, Shweta Suman broke down in tears and walked out of the Mohania Sub-Divisional Office visibly emotional.
Shweta Suman, a resident of Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh, confirmed the cancellation of her nomination herself. Speaking to the media, she stated that she was accused of not being a resident of Bihar and of providing incorrect information regarding her caste certificate.
Shweta Suman’s reaction:
“I was accused of being a resident of Uttar Pradesh and not a native of Bihar. Questions were also raised over my caste certificate. I had submitted all the documents correctly, yet my nomination was cancelled,” she said.
The cancellation of the RJD candidate’s nomination is being viewed as a serious blow to the party, especially at a time when the election atmosphere is already tense and competitive. The decision has sparked anger and disappointment among RJD workers and supporters at the local level.
It remains to be seen whether the RJD challenges this decision legally or decides to field a new candidate from the Mohania seat. For now, this development has given a new twist to the Mahagathbandhan’s election strategy.
