MakeMyTrip Launches AI Travel Assistant ‘Myra’
New Delhi : India’s leading online travel company, MakeMyTrip, has launched a new Generative AI-powered travel planning assistant, named ‘Myra’, aimed at making trip planning simpler, conversational, and more accessible to everyone. Myra assists users throughout their journey — from discovery and booking to travel support and post-trip help — using both voice and text in Hindi and English. Unlike global AI tools that stop at suggestions, Myra enables users to complete the entire booking journey within a single conversation. Whether someone asks, “Where can I travel with kids in August?” or “Suggest a ₹3500 hotel in Udaipur,” Myra responds with real-time availability, prices, and personalized recommendations.
MakeMyTrip’s Group CEO Rajesh Magow said the launch aims to empower travelers across India, especially those previously underserved due to language or digital barriers. Group CTO Sanjay Mohan described it as the company’s most ambitious tech project yet, involving a complex AI framework built in-house to manage real-time planning across categories like flights, hotels, holidays, transport, visas, and forex.
Currently in beta, Myra will soon expand to support more Indian languages and multimodal features, including image and video-based queries. This launch marks a major step in AI-driven smart travel in India, making personalized travel planning easier and more intuitive for all users.
