Manish Malhotra’s ‘Gustakh Ishq’ Promises a Passionate Love Story Set in Old Delhi and Punjab

Mumbai : Celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra is all set to make his debut as a film producer with his first feature film, ‘Gustakh Ishq’, under his banner Stage 5 Productions. The film is slated for a theatrical release in November 2025 and marks a new chapter in Malhotra’s long-standing love for cinema. Set against the evocative backdrops of Old Delhi’s alleys and Punjab’s fading havelis, Gustakh Ishq is described as a tale of passionate, unspoken love — a world where architecture preserves memories and music gives voice to the heart’s longing. Directed by Vibhu Puri, the film boasts an extraordinary creative team: music by Vishal Bhardwaj, lyrics by Gulzar, sound design by Resul Pookutty, and cinematography by Manush Nandan.Speaking about his foray into filmmaking, Malhotra said, “Cinema has always been my first love. With Gustakh Ishq, I finally get to give back to the medium that shaped my imagination and career.”

Co-produced with his brother Dinesh Malhotra, the film reflects a return to classic storytelling with a fresh, modern lens. The cast includes acclaimed actors Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sharib Hashmi.
