Maths Olympiad Foundation Honors Young Mathematicians
New Delhi : The Maths Olympiad Foundation, felicitated the much-anticipated International Maths Olympiad 2024 Award winners in a ceremony held on Sunday, 02 February 2025 at the NDMC Convention Centre, Sansad Marg, New Delhi recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of young mathematical minds. Organized by Sh. Kapil Sharma, Founder Director – MOF, the event honored 80 students from around 70 schools from Delhi and other states who had showcased exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical thinking in the prestigious Olympiad.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries. Dr. K. K. Aggarwal, President, South Asian University was the Chief Guest of the award function. Dr.Brajesh Pandey, Executive Director, Indian National Science Academy, Dr. Umesh Pathak, HOD, Mass Communication, MAIMS, Dr. Rajesh Thakur, Assistant Professor, SCERT, Dr. Ram Bhagat, Professor, DTU were the Guests of Honour . Dr. K.K. Aggarwal commended the students for their dedication and intellectual excellence. In his address, Dr. K.K. Aggarwal emphasized the importance of mathematical aptitude in shaping the future of science, technology, and innovation. Dr. Brajesh Pandey also commended the efforts of the students and congratulated the MOF for fostering love for Maths amongst the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Kapil Sharma Director, Maths Olympiad Foundation expressed pride in the participants, stating, “These young mathematicians are the architects of tomorrow’s innovations. Their perseverance and passion inspire us all.”
Top 10 schools were felicitated from across India on the basis of maximum participation. Special awards were also given to schools and mentors who played a pivotal role in nurturing talent.
Ms. Shalini Aggarwal, Principal, Summer Fields School, Kailash Colony, Delhi and Ms. Malini Malik, Principal, Vardhman International School, Mansarovar , Jaipur was awarded Best School Trophy. Students from classes III to XII who had secured First, Second and Third ranks were awarded certificates and trophies by the dignitaries. Ramanujam Award was presented to teachers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of mathematics or mathematical education. 50 such exemplary teachers were awarded trophies and certificates. Consolation prize was given to 10 schools for good participation. Students securing fourth ranks were also awarded consolation prizes.
The event concluded with an inspiring note, motivating students to continue exploring the vast world of mathematics. With such initiatives, the future of mathematics remains bright and promising.
