Miami Open: China’s Zheng Qinwen Reaches Semifinals, Set to Face Top Seed Aryna Sabalenka
Miami: China’s Zheng Qinwen has secured a spot in the Miami Open semifinals. The ninth-seeded Zheng defeated American Ashlyn Krueger 6-2, 7-6(3) in the quarterfinals on Monday.
Zheng displayed an impressive performance, firing five aces and winning 81% of points on her first serve. She wrapped up the match in 1 hour and 29 minutes.
On the other hand, Krueger struggled with her serve, committing four double faults and winning only 27% of points on return.
In the semifinals, Zheng will face top-seeded and World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who advanced to the last four by defeating defending champion Danielle Collins 6-4, 6-4 in her quarterfinal match.
