On 50th Anniversary of Emergency, MP Kangana Ranaut Says: “The Constitution Was Strangled in 1975, The New Generation Must Know the Truth”
Kullu (Himachal Pradesh) : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament and actress Kangana Ranaut has launched a sharp attack on the Congress on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, stating that the Indian Constitution was strangled in 1975, and it is essential to make the new generation aware of that truth.
Speaking to the media in Kullu, Kangana said:
“We don’t want today’s generation or those unaware of the Emergency to be misled by the Congress. We must learn from our history, and it is essential for today’s generation as well.”
She added, “In 1975, the country witnessed a dark chapter where democracy was crushed and the spirit of the Constitution was suppressed. Ignoring that period can be dangerous for the future of our nation.”
Kangana Ranaut also praised the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “I thank our government for taking the initiative to educate the country about the truth of its history. It is crucial that we tell our future generations how the rights and freedoms they enjoy today are the result of struggle and awareness.”
On the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, the BJP is observing “Constitution Murder Day” across the country, criticizing the Congress regime of the time for suppressing democracy, freedom of expression, and fundamental rights. Kangana Ranaut’s statement is seen in alignment with this nationwide campaign.
