On World Environment Day, PM Modi Plants Sindoor Sapling at His Delhi Residence

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi planted a Sindoor (vermilion) sapling at his residence in New Delhi on the occasion of World Environment Day. The sapling was a special gift from the brave mothers and sisters of Kutch, Gujarat, who displayed extraordinary courage and patriotism during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Recalling his recent visit to Gujarat, PM Modi noted that the gift of the Sindoor plant symbolizes the strength and inspiration of India’s Nari Shakti (women power).

In a post on X, the Prime Minister wrote:
“During my recent visit to Gujarat, the brave mothers and sisters of Kutch — who showed remarkable courage during the 1971 war — gifted me a Sindoor plant. On World Environment Day today, I had the honour of planting it at my residence in New Delhi. This sapling will always stand as a powerful symbol of the strength and inspiration of our women.”
