‘Operation Sindoor Not Over Yet’: Rajnath Singh Issues Strong Warning Amid Global Tensions

New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday issued a strong warning against any possible misadventure by India’s neighbour, stating that any such act would invite a decisive and unprecedented response from India. His remarks come amid the evolving global situation triggered by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Without naming any country, Singh cautioned that given the current geopolitical scenario, India’s neighbour could attempt “adventurism.” “If that happens, India’s response will be firm, decisive and beyond precedent. Operation Sindoor is not over yet,” he asserted.
Speaking at a ‘Sainik Samman Sammelan’ in Kerala, the Defence Minister also highlighted the role of the Indian Navy in ensuring maritime security. He said naval ships are actively assisting Indian tankers in safely navigating through sensitive and congested sea routes amid rising tensions in the region.
His comments appeared to संकेत toward Pakistan, against which India had launched military action under Operation Sindoor in May last year. The operation was carried out in response to a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Dismissing rumours of a potential fuel shortage in the country, Singh reassured citizens that India has adequate reserves of petrol, diesel, and gas. “Some elements are trying to spread panic by circulating misinformation about the West Asia conflict. There is no shortage of fuel or gas in the country. India is fully prepared to handle any energy-related challenges,” he said.
He also criticized sections of the opposition for engaging in what he termed “petty politics” instead of standing united with the nation during a sensitive period.
Referring to the broader global context, Singh noted that the world is currently undergoing significant changes, with a major conflict unfolding in West Asia. He acknowledged that many people from Kerala live and work in the region but assured that the government is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Indian citizens abroad.
“We are fully prepared and will take every necessary step to safeguard our people, wherever they are,” the Defence Minister added.
