Prashant Kishor Visits Jawanian Village in Bhojpur, Checks on Flood-Affected Families During Diwali

Bhojpur (Bihar): On Monday, Prashant Kishor, the strategist behind Jan Suraj, visited Jawanian village in Bhojpur district, which was severely affected by floods, on the occasion of Diwali. He spent time from afternoon till late evening with families who had taken shelter near the village dam and also participated in the Diwali celebrations with them.

Speaking to journalists, Kishor said that around 700 families in the village are currently living along the dam, struggling to survive. “The government has forgotten them. We came to see how our own people are living in such harsh conditions,” he added.

He further stated, “At present, we cannot provide any direct assistance. But we came here to show that if the government is not concerned about these people today, it will not be concerned if similar situations happen to others in the future. Therefore, I appeal to the people of Bihar: if the government has abandoned its people, it must be removed, and a new system should be established.”

Kishor also emphasized that change in government accountability comes through people’s votes. “Just as pensions and allowances increased in Bihar, a new government will also mobilize resources to rebuild Jawanian village. I request all Biharis to support the villagers in their struggle, even while celebrating Diwali.”
