Preparations in Full Swing for Delhi’s 79th Independence Day Celebrations, Special Traffic Restrictions Implemented
New Delhi : As the national capital gears up for the 79th Independence Day celebrations, stringent security and traffic arrangements have been put in place. Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta stated that traffic police movement increases significantly during this period, prompting the imposition of special restrictions at Delhi’s borders.
Gupta said, “From 10 p.m. last night, the entry of commercial vehicles into Delhi has been prohibited. These restrictions will remain in effect until all arrangements on the Red Fort route are complete. Similar restrictions will also be implemented from 10 p.m. on the night of August 14.”
He further explained that the traffic police have completed preparations at every level. “Different arrangements have been made for key points, personnel have been deployed at the borders under a separate plan, and special measures and restrictions will be in place on routes leading to the Red Fort and Rajghat.”
To keep the public informed, traffic advisories are being issued regularly. Gupta added, “We will continue to update people on routes and restrictions through social media, ensuring minimal inconvenience to the public while maintaining security and smooth conduct of the celebrations.”
